16개동 전역 총 128명의 상생위원, 동별 정기회의 실시
위원들 구성 직능단체 위주 구성 탈피해 거주 주민들로 구성되어야
마포구는 2023년 16개 동 전역에서 결성된 동 상생위원회가 순조로운 출항을 했다고 밝혔다.
동 상생위원회는 지역 내에서 발생하는 민원과 갈등을 지역 실정을 가장 잘 아는 주민과 직접 논의하고 해결하기 위해 창설되었고 이에 따라 지난해 12월 마포구는 16개 동에 총 128명의 상생위원을 위촉하였다.
이번 상생위원회 위원 중에는 지역주민도 아니며 또한 사업장를 운영하지도 않는 위원이 있다는 지적이다. 이런 위원들이 진정한 주민들의 삶의 질을 개선하기 위한 노력을 기대하기는 무리라며 동장은 세밀한 검토로 위원들의 대표성 있는 위촉이 있어야 할 것이며, 또한 위원들 구성이 직능단체 위주로 구성되어 그 나물에 그 밥이라는 지적을 피할 수 없다는 지적에 답을 내놓아야 할 것이다.
한편 올해 초부터 각 동별로 동 상생위원회가 개최되어 부위원장 선출과 위원회 운영세칙 제정을 비롯하여 올 한해 동 주민센터의 주요 업무 계획을 공유하는 등 위원회 운영의 기틀을 잡는 시간을 갖기도 했다.
특히 용강동 상생위원회는 지난 14일 개최한 정기회의를 통해 마포구가 ‘어르신과의 동행’을 목표로 추진하고 있는 ‘주민참여 효도밥상’ 사업에 대한 논의를 하고 1백만 원을 마포복지재단에 후원하기로 최종 결정했다고 전했다.
이날 참석한 용강동 상생위원은 “살고 있는 지역 문제에 강 건너 불구경하는 마음이 아니라 내가 직접 뛰어들어 해결방법을 찾는다고 생각하니 한편으로는 어깨가 무거우면서도 보람이 클 것 같다.”며 소감을 밝혔다.
구는 향후 분기별 1회 동 상생위원회의 정기회의를 실시하고 특별한 사안이 있을 경우 수시로 위원회를 개최해 지역 현안 해결에 박차를 가할 방침이다.
