"정치적 이념보다 사실에 기반 안 진실이 중요“
"왜곡된 현실을 바로 볼 수 있는 창 넘어 세상"
"개천에 용이 나는 세상으로 돌아갔으면 하는 바람으로"
‘베이비붐 세대’ 1950년대 중반부터 1960년대 중반 시대에 태어난 이들을 부르는 말이다.
현재도 대한민국에서 열정을 가지고 가장 활발하게 현장에서 활동하고 있으며 사회의 중추적인 역할을 하고 있다.
고령화 시대에 접어든 지금의 대한민국의 국민 중 가장 많은 고령의 인구에 포함되어 있는 세대이기도 하다.
현재 대한민국의 언론에 자주 등장하는 법무부 장관 조국과 자유한국당 나경원 원내대표도 베이비붐 세대의 마지막을 장식할 사람들이다.
대중매체와 언론에서 젊은 세대를 이야기할 때 가장 많이 사용되는 단어가 헬조선과 흙수저이다. 사회의 첫발을 내딛는 젊은 세대들에게 노력 하나만으로 어찌해 볼 수 없는 일이기에 나오는 단어들이다.
보통의 젊은 세대들과는 확연히 다른 삶을 살아온 그들이기에 헬조선과 흙수저라는 표현은 조금 낯설게 느껴지는지도 모른다.
그들의 딸과 아들들은 부모들의 배려로 시험과 면접을 보지 않고도 학교에 입학하고, 고등학생의 신분으로도 논문의 저자가 될 수 있었다.
보통사람으로는 합격하기 힘든 국제사회 관련 단체, 인턴쉽에 합격할 수 있었기에 이들에게는 헬조선, 흙수저 같은 단어가 다른 세상의 이야기처럼 들렸을 것이다.
이 두 사람은 있는 그 자체로도 남들보다 상당히 우위에 서 있는 우리가 흔히 말하는 엘리트의 모습이다.
진보와 보수를 막론하고 현재까지도 대한민국의 사회를 움직여온 엘리트들의 모습이 그들과 크게 다른 바가 없을 비슷할 형태로 별반 차이가 없을 것이다.
지난 박근혜 정권의 국정농단 사건으로 촛불 혁명이라는 깃발을 세우고 출발한 문재인 정부는 정의로운 나라 대한민국을 만들겠다고 다짐하였다. 기회는 평등하고, 과정은 공정하며, 결과는 정의로 울 것 이라는 문재인 대통령의 발언은 많은 사람의 심금을 울리며 설레 게 만들기도 하였다.
국정농단의 최순실 사태로 이미 수많은 젊은 세대들이 공정의 가치가 무너졌음에 큰 실망과 분노를 했듯이 최근 뉴스에서는 단독, 최초라는 수식어를 달고 다니는 조국 법무부 장관의 사태로 인하여 많은 젊은 세대들은 열정과 노력이라는 이름으로 동등하게 대우받지 못하고 있음에 흙수저의 상대적 박탈감 이것이 과연 공정하고 정의로운 대한민국 인가라는 현실에 분노를 느끼고 좌절했을 것이다.
지금의 문재인 정부도 다를 것이라고 기대했었지만 전 정권과 비슷한 상황이 벌어진 것에 대하여 당혹감 또한 감추지 못하고 있는 실정이다.
대한민국의 고3 수험생의 학부모들은 지금 이 순간에도 2020학년 대학수학능력시험을 위해 긴장의 끈을 놓지 않고 있다. 그러하기에 누군가의 아들·딸의 입시전형은 부모가 설계한 각본을 토대로 만들어진 것이라는 생각은 누구나 해볼법한 것이며, 그러한 부모의 자녀로 태어나지 못한 것을 한스러워하는 젊은 청년들이 참 서글프게 느껴진다.
모든 세상의 일들이 결코 정의롭다고 말할 수는 없다. 하지만 사람으로서 좀 더 살기 좋은 세상을 위하여 한계를 추구하며 살고 있는 것이다.
그러나 보통의 사람들이 생각하는 상식과 양심에 대하여는 국민 판단을 할 것이며, 그 누구든 드러난 비리와 의혹이 있다면 법과 원칙에 따라 엄정한 검찰의 수사가 뒤따를 것이다.
이렇듯 세상에는 정치적 진영논리로 어느 한 사람이나 특권층에 의해 좌지우지 되어서는 안되며, 정치적 이념보다 사실에 기반 안 진실이 중요하므로 그것을 교훈 삼아 왜곡된 현실을 바로 볼 수 있는 창 넘어 세상, 개천에 용이 나는 세상으로 돌아갔으면 하는 바람으로 이 글을 쓴다.
